[ENGLISH] Founded in May 2006, IMIsound established itself right from the outset as a beautifully maintained showcase and excellent listening post for the best of independent Italian music, exalting the direct spirit of communion between the artist and the listener and disregarding the standard charts, competitions and vote exchanges that so often do no more than to reduce artistic beauty to yet another banal object of commerce and speculation. Convinced of the artistic wealth of independent music and well aware of the sad tendency on the part of music promoters to entrust their choices exclusively to the usual ‘known names’, IMIsound has moved ahead determinedly, pointing on quality rather than quantity, using its own online radio to give airplay to a carefully chosen assortment of young (and less young) newcomers, long-time professionals, and independent idealists. On the IMIsound homepage it is the artists themselves who reign from week to week thanks to a 5 channel radio station, a track-of-the-week, an album-of-the-week, a spotlight artist and a spotlight video. Also on the homepage are upcoming events, blogs, forums and an immediate access to all the artists listed by mood and by name. Strictly non-profit, IMIsound is free for everybody, artists and listeners and offers its members a customizable page with the possibility to add music, photos, videos and to run a personal blog. [ITALIANO] Nato nel maggio 2006, IMIsound si è proposto sin dall’esordio come curatissima vetrina ed eccelente posto d’ascolto per il meglio della musica indipendente italiana, esaltando lo spirito di communione diretta tra artista e ascoltatore e trascurando le solite classifiche, concorsi e scambi di voto che fin troppo spesso non fanno altro che ridurre la bellezza artistica ad un’ennesimo banalissimo oggetto di commercio e di speculazione. Certo invece della ricchezza artistica della musica indipendente e consapevole della triste tendenza di chi promuove la musica a fidarsi esclusivamente ai soliti ‘nomi conosciuti’, IMIsound si fa avanti sulla strada della qualità piuttosto che della quantità, proponendo alla propria radio un assortimento ben curato di giovani (e meno giovani) emergenti, affermati professionisti, e indipendenti idealisti. Sulla homepage di IMIsound sono gli artisti stessi a regnare da settimana a settimana con i 5 canali della radio, un brano-della-settimana, un album-della-settimana, uno spotlight artist e uno spotlight video. Sempre sulla homepage ci sono gli eventi in arrivo, blogs, forum e un accesso immediato a tutti gli artisti elencati per mood e per nome.
