Spotlight Artist: Wide

La band nasce nel 2001 dall’incontro in rete fra Antonio Rafaschieri e Gianni Pollex. Per circa tre anni il sound del gruppo si basa sulle sonorità allucinate dell’invasione britannica del periodo che attraversa Beatles, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin fino ai più recenti U2, Oasis e Coldplay. In seguito, con l’intervento del batterista Beppe Garavelli, il bassista Giorgio Cutrignelli e il chitarrista Bepy Capasso lo scenario sonoro cambia e si dirige verso una musicalità più accessibile, molto tendente al pop-rock italiano sull’onda di artisti che oramai hanno fatto scuola come Lucio Battisti, Vasco Rossi, Ligabue. L’obiettivo odierno degli Wide è quello di rigenerare la musica che sta viaggiando sempre più a passo elevato verso un orizzonte ignoto ma che di sicuro non ci promette niente di buono. Lo scopo del gruppo è quello di scrivere belle canzoni, orecchiabili, a volte riflessive a volte ballabili, imprimendo nel cuore dell’ascoltatore dei ritornelli emozionanti e di immediata cantabilità.

The band was formed in 2001 after an online meeting between Antonio Rafaschieri and Gianni Pollex. For about three years the sound of the band was very much based on the unrestrained sounds of the British invasion starting with the Beatles, passing through Pink FLoyd and Led Zeppelin and arriving at the more recent U2, Oasis and Coldplay. Afterwards, with the arrival of the drummer Beppe Garavelli, the bass player Giorgio Cutrignelli and the guiatarist Bepy Capasso, the sound scene changed and headed towards an easier musiciality, tending more towards an Italian style pop-rock in the wake of artists who have left their mark such as Lucio Battisti, Vasco Rossi, Ligabue. The objective of Wide today is to regenerate the music which is travelling faster and faster towards an unknown horizon which promises no good. The aim of the band is to write great songs, catchy tunes, sometimes thoughtful other times danceable, imprinting in the listener’s heart touching choruses which are easy to sing along to.
